Our Story
Patti Cakes Children’s Center was founded by Meredith Lawrence, a lifelong advocate for children’s growth and discovery. With over seven years of experience directing a successful tutoring program, Meredith saw the need for a space where early learning could be joyful, hands-on, and connected to the world around us.
To bring that vision to life, Meredith earned her Site Supervisor Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing while gaining experience teaching at several preschools and serving as an Assistant Director at a large Turlock preschool. Through these roles, she developed a belief that children learn best when they are free to explore, create, and engage all their senses.
At Patti Cakes, we take a holistic approach to early childhood education, focusing on the development of the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. Our environment encourages curiosity, creativity, and connection, blending structure with the freedom to learn through play and discovery.
Meredith’s blend of education, experience, and heartfelt passion has shaped Patti Cakes into a warm, welcoming space where children feel safe, inspired, and celebrated for who they are.
Patti Cakes is lovingly named after Meredith’s mother, Patti, affectionately known as “Nana.” Her nurturing spirit continues to inspire everything we do.
